Welcome to
Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church

A message from its members

On behalf of the members of Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church, welcome to our website. We are glad you have found us.

Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church is an urban church located in the heart of the Highlands Neighborhood of Louisville. We are a multi-generational church of about 180 members. The church began 100 years ago as a mission Sunday School for people who were beginning to locate further from the main part of the city. We continue to consider ourselves a mission church, with a  strong calling to share the love of Christ.

We consider our location one of our greatest gifts and we welcome many groups and organizations into our facilities. We host the local Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings in our church parking lot through most of the year. Bellewoood Children's Home is located in our building with offices for THRIVE, a support and mentoring program for homeless and disabled young adults in the community. Several 12-step programs meet regularly in our building.

Our members regularly participate in a broad range of ministries, some of which include Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army meal service,  Project Warm, and tutoring at risk youth. Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church is an active member of Highlands Community Ministries which focuses on meeting the needs of families in our neighborhood.

The life of our congregation centers around our worship and service together. We welcome children into worship and have an active children's choir, youth and Sunday School programs. We have a luncheon following worship on the first Sunday of each month. We welcome guest speakers regularly as part of our adult education program. We enjoy our life together as we learn what God is calling us to be and do in the world today.

As you may have seen on elsewhere on our website, we consider ourselves, We are a church of ordinary people caring for one another as we respond to God's call for a just and sustainable world.

We invite you to come and join as we support and care for one another and work to share the Good News of God's love for all people.
